Studio
My studio is a purpose-built environment for precision photographic work and creative studio production, where control, repeatability, and flexibility are essential. It supports a wide range of projects — including fine art reproduction, portraiture and professional headshots, and commercial product photography — all within a calibrated, controlled setting.
The studio is designed to allow creative ideas to be explored while maintaining rigorous technical standards. Portraits and headshots can be approached with subtlety or drama, using carefully shaped light to suit individual personalities, branding needs, or editorial requirements. Commercial products and objects can be photographed with the same level of control, allowing form, texture, and material to be revealed accurately or interpreted creatively, depending on the intent of the project.
Capture is centered around a medium-format Hasselblad system, chosen for its exceptional resolution, tonal depth, and geometric accuracy. This provides the flexibility to produce imagery suitable for large-format printing, publication, and high-end commercial use.
Lighting is fully controlled using high-powered strobes, projection systems, and a comprehensive range of modifiers. This allows precise management of contrast, surface detail, reflections, and translucency — particularly important when photographing artwork, glass, polished surfaces, and dimensional objects.
In addition to traditional studio capture, the studio supports advanced blue-screen and green-screen compositing for projects requiring seamless background replacement or complex post-production workflows. This allows subjects, products, and objects to be photographed with precision lighting and clean edge separation, then integrated into custom environments or composite imagery with a high degree of realism and control.
For fine art reproduction and color-critical work, the studio operates within a fully color-managed workflow, from capture through final file preparation. This ensures consistent, repeatable results for print, publication, and archival use.
While the studio provides a controlled environment for the most demanding work, the same standards apply beyond it. Portable professional lighting systems, including the Broncolor Move, allow studio-quality results to be achieved on location when required.
